About records

Records that are published on the National Archives webpage are based on and international standard for archives called ISAD(G) (General International Standard for Archival Description).

Currently a record hasn't been published for all fonds which are preserved at the National Archives. The reason is that some older records have yet to be digitised and some the holdings have yet to be catalogued. Therefore, only a part of the holdings of the National Archives is published in the online records. There is ongoing work to add records for both new and older fonds, so the records are growing every week.
